How Real Feng Shui Works

The arrangement of our living space and how it relates to our needs will impact on our overall well-being. Feng Shui analyses the orientation of a property, room layout, colours, water, natural light and seasonal awareness, so that flow of energy is optimised, and obstructions are released. The intention is to help you to gain the best whether it be your mood, health, relationships, or the success of your desired prosperity.

My consultation is personalised to your needs and aspirations. For Feng Shui to exert its benefits, a home should resonate harmoniously with its occupants.  You are the essential part of the process, and my Feng Shui recommendations will provide realistic, effective solutions that you can easily manage to accomplish whilst in keeping with your personal taste and preferences.

Today, Feng Shui is recognised due to the benefits it brings to people's lives and its positive impact on contemporary construction and design trends. In more recent times, Fes Shui has evolved, whereby a few basic concepts have been taken and simplistic methods and approaches are used, ie Bagua, Black Hat. Unfortunately, this has caused confusion and seriously undermined the true value of classical Feng Shui. Classical Feng Shui is a traditional art and science, and needs to be approached as a whole, taking every Feng Shui Essential into consideration.

Legends, myths, and superstition are poetic expressions of Chinese culture; some of these have influenced the more whimsical interpretation of Feng Shui. The primary motivation for closing the toilet lid is to protect your health, not to avoid losing money. In the past, it was customary to cover the toilet in order to prevent the transmission of germs because if a breadwinner became ill, he would be unable to support his family by working. When used indoors, wind chimes are typically useless and still, though occasionally their metal or wooden aspect may be advantageous. Qi is created by the rhythmic motion and lyrical melody of wind chimes that are strung outside, bringing a positive energy to your home.

Contrary to what you may believe, Feng Shui is neither a form of magic, mystery, superstition, or religion, nor can it predict your destiny. It is also not about putting your lottery ticket under a money plant or placing auspicious charms, red tassels, flutes, kitsch objects, or coins around your home, in your purse, or under the floorboards to bring you luck. But if you like them, they cannot harm you.

The lasting success of classical Feng Shui lies in the traditional knowledge which is intelligently applied to embrace today’s modern living conditions and lifestyle needs. Classical Feng Shui can’t be ‘modernised’ or ‘westernised’. It does not need to be, it works today in our everyday lives here and now.
